Here we describe the privacy practices for our websites; Sigma, the cloud based Integrated Development Environment for Serverless computing, presented as a software-as-a-service offering; and other related services operated by us (the “Services”). You will learn about the data we collect, how we use it, the controls we give you over your information, and the measures we take to keep it safe.
Information we collect
When you use our Services, we collect the following types of information.
Information you provide us
Some information is required to create an account on our Services, such as your name and email address. You may optionally provide us with additional information such as your phone number.
AWS Account and Credentials
Our Services perform tasks on behalf of your AWS Account. Your AWS account Access Key and Secret Key (i.e. credentials) are required for the meaningful utilization of our Services. Our Services will prompt you for these credentials at each Sign-in session, and save them into your browser cache for subsequent reuse, until you Sign-out, as we do not save these credentials with us by default, as a security precaution.
However, for your convenience, we allow you to optionally save your AWS credentials into our user store, so that you do not have to provide them at each Sign-in session. If you choose to let us save your credentials, purely for your convenience, we will encrypt them with your account password, or an encryption password (if you login with your Facebook or Google account), and save them into our user store, which is AWS Cognito.
We allow you to integrate our Services with your GitHub account, to allow you to save your code directly into your GitHub account. We do this by obtaining authorization from your GitHub account, to our application, hosted with the AWS API Gateway. We do not request for, or save your GitHub credentials, authorization tokens or any other information related to your GitHub account as a security precaution.
If you contact us or participate in a survey, contest, or promotion, or contact us regarding an issue you’ve encountered, such as a bug report, we collect the information you submit such as your name, contact information, organization, bug information, log information and any other message or information.
Information We Receive From Your Use of Our Services
When you access or use our Services, we receive and store certain usage data. This includes information about your interaction with the Services, for example, when you log into your account, perform a build or deployment, or commit code. We collect information such as your IP address, operating system, browser type, the time and date of your visit or usage, the action performed, and other relevant statistics.
Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies
- Cookies are small data files stored on your browser. They may be served by the entity that operates the website you are visiting (“first-party cookies”) or by other companies (“third-party cookies”).
- For example, we partner with third-party analytics providers, like Google Analytics and StatCounter, which set cookies when you visit our websites. This helps us understand how you are using our Services so that we can improve them.
- Pixels are small images on a web page or in an email. Pixels collect information about your browser or device and can set cookies.
- Local storage allows data to be stored locally on your browser and includes HTML5 local storage and browser cache.
Below are the ways that we and our partners use these technologies on our Services.
- Preferences: To help us remember your settings and preferences, so that we can provide you with a more personalized experience.
- Authentication and Security: To log you into the Services; enable us to show you your account data; and help us keep your data and the Services safe and secure.
- Analytics and Research: To help us understand how you are using the Services so that we can make them better, faster, and safer.
- Although most browsers accept cookies by default, their settings usually allow you to clear or decline cookies. If you disable cookies, however, some of the features of our Services may not function properly.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to provide and support our Services and make them better for all our users. Here’s how:
Provide, Improve, and Develop Services
Using the information we collect, we are able to deliver the Services, improve them, and perform research and development activities for future. We use your information to send you Service notifications and inform you of new features, samples, content and other documentation or guides we think you would be interested in. You can opt-out of marketing communications by clicking on the ‘Unsubscribe’ links in our emails. We also use your information to respond to you when you contact us.

For Legal Reasons
We may preserve or disclose information about you to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to assert legal rights or defend against legal claims; or to prevent, detect, or investigate illegal activity, fraud, abuse, violations of our terms, or threats to the security of the Services or the physical safety of any person.
We may share non-personal information that is aggregated or de-identified so that it cannot reasonably be used to identify an individual. We may disclose such information publicly and to third parties, for example, in public reports about our Services, or to partners under agreement with us.
How to Manage Your Personal Information
We provide you with account settings to manage the personal information associated with your account. We store information associated with your account until your account is deleted. You can delete your account at any time by contacting us. Please note that it may take a bit of time to delete your account information, and we may preserve some of it for legal reasons.
You may revoke authorization for our Services from your GitHub, Facebook or Google account at anytime.
Analytics Services Provided by Others
We do not share your personal information with any advertising partners.
We use a combination of technical, administrative, and physical controls to maintain the security of your data. This includes using Transport Layer Security to secure many of our Services, and encryption of credentials if you have chosen them to be stored with us. No method of transmitting or storing data is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our Services are not designed for children under the age of 13. If we discover that a person under the age of 13 has submitted information directly to us, we will endeavor to delete the information from our systems.
We operate internationally and may transfer information collected within the European Union or other regions with laws governing data collection and use. Please note that you are agreeing to the transfer of your Personal Information to Sri Lanka and the United States to us. By providing your Personal Information, you consent to any transfer and processing in accordance with this Policy.
